In summer there are various swimming opportunities around Lienz. The Dolomitenbad Lienz is the largest outdoor pool in the region and offers various pools and a 60m long water slide. The Tristacher See is a lake idyllically located in the forest, 4 km from Lienz.

Around the capital of East Tyrol there are many well-kept Fishing Waters. From the wild and romantic mountain streams to the calmer waters of the rivers out of the valley - 33 different types of fish live in East Tyrol, such as trout, char, pike, carp and pikeperch.
